New Dawn Foundation
A charity dedicated to improving access to evidence-based trauma treatment in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We raise funds to support treatment pathways and connect people with highly skilled therapists committed to meaningful healing and long-term recovery.
Every day, people live with the lasting effects of trauma — not because help does not exist, but because it is out of reach. Long wait times, high costs, and systemic barriers prevent many from accessing the care they need.
New Dawn Foundation exists to change that.
By funding timely, evidence-based trauma treatment, we help people move from survival to recovery — restoring safety, dignity, and hope. Together, we can help turn trauma into recovery, and recovery into a new beginning.
About Us
Who We Are
New Dawn Foundation is a registered charitable trust established to relieve mental distress and promote recovery for people affected by trauma.
We exist to bridge the gap between need and access—ensuring that people are not denied effective trauma treatment due to cost, wait times, or systemic barriers.
Why This Cause Matters
Trauma can have a deep and lasting impact on a person’s life. Long after a traumatic experience has ended, its effects may continue — shaping how someone feels, thinks, connects with others and experiences the world. Many people live in a constant state of stress or emotional overwhelm, carrying invisible wounds that affect their wellbeing, relationships and sense of safety.
Without access to the right support, trauma can limit a person’s ability to heal and move forward. Yet with evidence-based, trauma-focused care, recovery is possible. People can regain stability, reconnect with themselves, and rediscover hope.
At New Dawn Foundation, we help make that healing possible by funding access to proven mental health treatments. This work matters because timely, effective support can change — and save — lives.
